About the role#
The EHS Intern position is part of the Flourish summer program at Ardent Mills. This program provides foundational knowledge of company values through hands-on experience and specialized projects. Interns are immersed in daily business activities and collaborate with organizational leaders on group projects. The program aims to prepare participants for future full-time roles as people-leaders within operations.
What you'll do#
- Participate in toolbox meetings and department reviews to track work progress.
- Promote personnel and food safety to ensure a safe work environment.
- Support and follow all plant rules within the workplace.
- Conduct testing and apply Food Safety and Quality Policies to decision-making processes.
- Complete individual projects assigned based on current organizational needs.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization on group project assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Ag Studies, Ag Business, Business Administration, Mechanized Systems, Engineering (Mechanical, Agricultural, Biosystems, Food, Ag Systems), Milling Science, Bakery Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
- Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
- Willingness to work periodic workdays that exceed the standard assigned schedule.
