About the role#
Associated Students UCLA is hiring for a Student Media Photographer and Operations Assistant. This role balances studio photography with administrative and marketing tasks. You will work 8 to 20 hours per week, with increased hours during peak graduation seasons.
What you'll do#
- Capture graduation portraits, passport photos, and professional headshots in the studio.
- Complete photo assignments for news magazines and the yearbook.
- Manage marketing and sales efforts, including tabling and promotion.
- Handle studio production tasks like data entry, sales processing, and order fulfillment.
- Support the operations manager with alumni outreach, archiving, stock management, and office maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time UCLA student.
- Proficiency with a DSLR camera, with Nikon experience preferred.
- Basic skills in Adobe Photoshop or general photo editing.
- Writing skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and handle a busy graduation season.
- Submission of a portfolio containing at least 6 people-based portraits.
Location & details#
- Position is based in Los Angeles, California.
- Work is on-site.
- Schedule includes Monday through Friday hours, with some weekend shifts required during peak periods.
