About the role#
This is an 8-month internship focused on Canadian Medical Affairs within a rare disease organization. You will gain practical exposure to scientific strategy, medical education, evidence generation, and field medical operations. The role provides mentorship and hands-on experience in supporting patients and healthcare professionals through medical strategy and compliant execution.
What you'll do#
- Support core Medical Affairs activities including scientific communications, medical education, evidence generation, and congress planning.
- Assist with literature reviews, medical intelligence, and the synthesis of scientific information to aid internal decision-making.
- Help develop and organize scientific materials, medical education resources, presentations, and project trackers.
- Coordinate logistics for congresses and advisory boards, including agenda management and post-event follow-up.
- Support evidence generation and field medical activities through data organization and the preparation of concise reports.
- Collaborate with Medical Directors, Medical Advisors, Medical Science Liaisons, and cross-functional partners.
- Assist with digital and AI-enabled initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all work follows company policies, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in life sciences, pharmacy, health sciences, public health, biotechnology, or a related field.
- A strong interest in Medical Affairs, rare diseases, and pharmaceutical industry operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarize complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with collaboration, data visualization, or AI-enabled productivity tools is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing needs.
- A commitment to working in a compliant, ethical, and patient-focused manner.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
- Employment Type: Full-time, 8-month contract.
- Compensation: The annual base salary range is 42,908.00 to 56,316.75 CAD.
