    About the role#

    ATCO is looking for a student to join the Measurement and Gas Lab team in Calgary for a 12-month internship starting in January 2027. You will assist with gas specifications management for the natural gas distribution system and support laboratory processes for gas and liquid analysis. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze natural gas samples for component identification related to odorization monitoring, heat value measurement, and gas quality control.
    • Process hydrocarbon and Sulphur analysis data and evaluate the results for validity.
    • Investigate analysis results that deviate from normal levels and recommend corrective actions.
    • Perform shipping and receiving duties as needed.
    • Conduct experiments and other related laboratory tasks.
    • Communicate technical information to internal teams and external customers.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an undergraduate co-op or internship program at a recognized Canadian institution in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
    • A valid Class 5 driver's license.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • A strong safety mindset and the ability to work safely with various tools and equipment.
    • A working knowledge of gas chromatography principles.
    • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and move equipment such as cylinders and carts.
    • Strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and attention to detail.

    • Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
    • Term: 12-month duration starting in January 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: Paid position with relocation assistance provided.
