About the role#
Avita Health System is hiring a Pharmacy Intern to work in our outpatient and retail pharmacy locations. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure safe medication practices. This position is casual or PRN, with opportunities for full or part time hours during summer and holiday breaks. You may also work intermittent weekend shifts throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Interpret physician prescriptions and medication orders.
- Serve as a drug information resource for patients, nursing staff, and medical personnel.
- Review patient profiles to identify potential drug interactions.
- Perform clinical interventions, such as making dosage recommendations.
- Administer immunizations to patients.
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications.
- Manage technical and clerical tasks related to the ordering, packaging, billing, and distribution of medications.
- Complete quality assurance functions to maintain standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program at a college or university.
- A valid Pharmacy Intern license in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Crestline and Ontario, Ohio.
- Pharmacy hours are 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday and 8:30am to 5pm on weekends.
