About the role#
The Graduate Pharmacy Intern works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to support daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on patient care and providing professional service within a retail environment. You will assist in meeting business objectives while ensuring the pharmacy functions efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Assist with pharmacy operations, including customer service, inventory management, and expense control.
- Prepare, dispense, and sell prescription and pharmacy products under pharmacist supervision.
- Deliver Pharmacy Care programs such as immunizations, injections, and testing.
- Monitor patients to track therapeutic outcomes and identify potential adverse drug effects.
- Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies.
- Consult with patients to explain drug therapy plans and address potential interactions.
- Participate in adherence programs to support pharmacy performance measures.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a Pharmacy School, either a BS or Doctor of Pharmacy.
- A state-issued Pharmacy Intern license for the state of California.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts.
- Commitment to sound business ethics and professional standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet store and customer needs.
