About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward their degree. You will assist with prescription processing, inventory management, and patient care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage inventory by ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering data.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and follow security and regulatory procedures.
- Help train pharmacy employees.
- Clean the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information and prescription pricing.
- Collaborate with the team to follow standard operating procedures and facility policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Skill in composing correspondence and evaluating technical data.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
