About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Human Resources Internship based in Waynesboro, Virginia. You will work on-site and support our HR team with daily operations, recruitment, and employee engagement. We are looking for someone who can handle sensitive information with discretion and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
What you'll do#
- Interpret and apply HR policies to ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Maintain the HR database, ensure data accuracy, and prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Support hourly recruitment by reviewing job descriptions, posting jobs, interviewing candidates, and evaluating skills.
- Develop and maintain relationships with universities and other recruitment sources.
- Collaborate with the training team to develop and run new employee orientation programs.
- Track applicant data and report on onboarding statistics.
- Assist in planning and executing employee engagement events.
- Help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
What you'll need#
- At least one year of studies or experience in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Advanced PC skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and interact with staff at all levels.
- A self-directed and motivated approach to your work.
