About the role#
Braun Intertec is offering a 6-month co-op position based in Dickinson, North Dakota. This is a paid, full-time opportunity for students to gain field experience in civil engineering and construction materials testing. You will work alongside professional engineers and technicians on commercial and transportation projects. The role requires a commitment of 6 months, with start dates typically falling between mid-May and November or December.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite materials testing for various construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure project specifications are met.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering construction safety, soil compaction, radiation safety, and nuclear density gauge operation.
- Learn industry procedures and gain exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
- Work in outdoor environments, which may include uneven terrain, varying heights, or confined spaces.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Capability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
