About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in the building materials industry. You will work directly within our lumber yard and warehouse in Newton, Massachusetts. The role focuses on the logistics and daily operations that keep our facility running. You will gain insight into how materials move from suppliers to customers while working alongside our professional operations team.
What you'll do#
- Support daily yard and warehouse operations, including receiving, staging, and dispatching building materials.
- Assist with inventory tracking, cycle counts, and restocking materials.
- Shadow operations leaders to learn about scheduling, staffing, and production planning.
- Help fulfill customer orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Use handheld scanners and inventory tracking software to manage stock.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Junior or Senior standing is preferred.
- Willingness to work in an outdoor and warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
