About the role#
This internship provides hands-on legal experience for a law student interested in corporate, insurance, and in-house legal practice. You will work directly with in-house attorneys and receive guidance from an assigned mentor. As part of our broader summer internship program, you will gain exposure to various departments and contribute to our ongoing operations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and analysis covering corporate, insurance, reinsurance, employment, and compliance matters.
- Draft, review, and update legal and business documents, such as non-disclosure, vendor, and reinsurance agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, IT, Tax, and Broker Services.
- Assist in developing internal policies, procedures, and legal training materials.
- Support legal technology initiatives by testing and training on contract management systems.
- Contribute to materials that explain the formation and operation of new captives.
- Review investment-related agreements and policies for our captive members.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in an accredited law school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong critical, commercial, strategic, and practical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
