About the role#
NJM Insurance Group is hiring a General Claims Legal Intern for the summer of 2027. This position is based at our headquarters in West Trenton, New Jersey. You will work directly with our legal team to gain experience in litigation and business operations. This is a paid, part-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda.
- Maintain the General Claims Legal Index, which serves as a resource for property and casualty insurance topics.
- Support staff attorneys with various legal tasks and projects.
- Participate in the broader summer intern program, including networking events, professional seminars, and a team project.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your second year of law school by the start of summer 2027.
- A minimum 3.0 overall undergraduate GPA.
- Ability to commute to our West Trenton office.
- Knowledge of tort law and insurance coverage.
- Strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- A self-directed work style and the ability to multitask.
- Previous legal work experience is helpful but not required.

- Pay: $21 to $25 per hour.
