About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring an intern for the summer of 2027 in our Overland Park office. This position provides hands-on experience with technical and business operations across a variety of client projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals on site inspections, site history reviews, and brownfield redevelopment projects. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform soil, groundwater, and vapor investigation and remediation sampling.
- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Inspections.
- Assist with GIS projects and data management.
- Review laboratory data and prepare reports or calculations.
- Provide design assistance for site development projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in geology, hydrogeology, soil science, environmental science, or environmental/geological engineering.
- Expected graduation date by June 2029 (students entering their senior year are preferred).
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Willingness to work on-site in Overland Park for the duration of the summer.
- Experience with ArcGIS or AutoCAD is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Overland Park, Kansas.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), on-site, 5 days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May/June through August/September).
- Compensation: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour.
