About the role#
Geosyntec Consultants is hiring a Civil or Environmental Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 semester in Tallahassee, Florida. This part-time role requires approximately 10 hours of work per week over a 13 to 15 week period. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects while learning the business side of consulting. Candidates who can return for additional semester rotations are preferred.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools.
- Write technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Manage data input and analysis, including the preparation of maps, tables, and figures.
- Assist in creating reports, graphics, and PowerPoint presentations using AI tools like Co-Pilot.
- Collaborate with engineers, geologists, office staff, CADD operators, and contractors.
- Conduct fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling or contractor oversight.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for a relevant engineering discipline.
- Outstanding academic credentials.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, including technical writing.
- Preferred experience with ArcView, CADD, or Microsoft Office.
- Preferred degree focus in civil, geotechnical, environmental, or water resources engineering.
