About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring a Civil or Environmental Engineering Intern for our Duluth, Georgia office for Summer 2027. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in technical engineering and business operations. You will work 40 hours per week, five days a week, on-site. The role involves supporting projects related to landfill construction, permitting, storm water management, utility projects, soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and sustainability. The internship runs from May or June through August or September 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform construction observation and documentation.
- Collect environmental and construction material samples.
- Manage and review laboratory and compliance data.
- Prepare compliance reports.
- Conduct surveying tasks.
- Prepare technical reports and calculations.
- Assist with CAD drafting.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, environmental, biological, biosystems, or geological engineering.
- Expected graduation date by June 2029.
- Must be willing to live in the Atlanta area for Summer 2027.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the office.
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing.
- Solid technical and computer skills, with preference given to those with AutoCAD experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
- A desire to pursue a career in consulting and professional licensure upon graduation is preferred.
