About the role#
The Associate Campus Minister serves at the St. John Catholic Student Center at Michigan State University. This full-time, on-site position focuses on mentoring students and fostering a culture of discipleship. You will report to the Director of Campus Ministry and support the spiritual growth of the university community.
What you'll do#
- Discern, form, and accompany student leaders for Bible studies and evangelization.
- Plan and facilitate monthly Upper Room gatherings for student formation.
- Work with an outreach team to set goals for our presence on campus.
- Provide spiritual guidance and formation to undergraduate students.
- Help plan and facilitate retreats, including the IGNITE new student retreat.
- Maintain visibility at campus and parish events.
What you'll need#
- A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church.
- An M.A. in Catholic Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field.
- A background in Philosophy is relevant to this work.
- A working knowledge of theological concepts and spiritual development.
- Familiarity with campus ministry and current catechetical processes.
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in one-on-one pastoral care and student mentorship.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holy days to meet student schedules.
