About the role#
The Site Reliability Engineering team at Cboe is looking for a Linux Engineer Intern to support the performance and capacity of our high-performance financial exchanges. You will work alongside software, systems, and network engineering teams to maintain system availability and gain experience with complex software systems and financial market operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to maintain the resiliency and high availability of financial exchanges.
- Analyze performance metrics to optimize exchange latency.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams on technology migrations and upgrades.
- Support the incident management process by investigating and resolving technical issues.
- Develop, test, and maintain automation and monitoring tools.
- Drive and implement capacity planning decisions for operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Graduation date scheduled no earlier than December 2027.
- Advanced knowledge of the Linux command line.
- High level of proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to learn about technical operations within a financial exchange.
- Ability to read and evaluate C++ or similar complex object-oriented languages.
- Knowledge of stock and options trading.
