About the role#
USAA is hiring Actuarial Analyst Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides an opportunity to support pricing, modeling, reserving, and risk assessment within the life and property and casualty industries. Interns work on real business challenges while building professional relationships with mentors and managers.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses for new products, future projections, repricing, and financial strength assessments.
- Acquire and apply foundational knowledge of USAA business, products, and processes.
- Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and risk management.
- Enter data and tables, run models, and generate reports under direct supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree or higher program in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance.
- Expected graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029, with graduation occurring after the final day of the internship.
- Completion of one or more actuarial exams.
- Prior quantitative internship or related employment experience.
- Demonstrated leadership through employment, extracurricular activities, or community service.
- Experience communicating or presenting technical topics to a broad audience.
- Foundational knowledge of actuarial functions and business operations.
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as SQL, VBA, SAS, R, or Python.
- Understanding and experience applying data analysis and actuarial techniques.

- Location: San Antonio, Texas (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
