About the role#
This internship works directly with the External Affairs team. You will have visibility into media, Capitol Hill, and industry relationships. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to support communications and marketing objectives. You will help build plans, set goals, and communicate with stakeholders to advance legislative efforts. This position is based in Washington, DC, for the Fall 2026 academic semester.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with stakeholders and the broader team.
- Plan and organize events from start to finish.
- Create promotional materials and manage social media campaigns.
- Provide on-site support at events, including setup and registration.
- Maintain databases and handle administrative tasks related to event planning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, Political Science, or Economics.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience with press releases, news articles, presentations, and reports.
- Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- An interest in Capitol Hill, political processes, policy, or clean energy technologies is a plus.
