About the role#
This coop program offers engineering and physics students the chance to gain hands-on experience in the energy sector. You will work across various departments to build a broad understanding of company operations and infrastructure. This is a paid, year-round program that allows you to contribute to meaningful projects while developing your professional network. Placements are based on business needs across the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester County.
What you'll do#
- Assist technicians and engineers with safe and reliable energy delivery for electric, gas, and steam operations.
- Provide administrative and project management support to your assigned team.
- Perform data collection and analysis to support forecasting and strategy development.
- Participate in company volunteer events.
- Network across the organization to grow your professional knowledge.
- Respond to company emergencies by performing system assignments to help restore service.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year college program.
- A major in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or Physics.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A strong work ethic and the flexibility to handle changing assignments.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
