About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineering Summer Intern for the Community Design group in the Traverse City office. This position is for the Summer 2027 term and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine calculations under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Obtain drawings from local municipalities.
- Analyze continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Copy and scan project drawings.
- Assist engineers with the development of spreadsheet tools.
- Work with project managers and staff across the Planning, Structural Design, and Hydraulic and Hydrology departments.
- Communicate with engineering staff and clients to maintain excellent relations.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, with freshman or sophomore status preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and organized work habits.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred.
