About the role#
The Engineering Co-Op provides general support for product design, CAD documentation, and lab testing. You will work on projects serving industrial, commercial, residential, municipal, and military markets. This role involves a mix of desk work, production floor collaboration, and lab testing.
What you'll do#
- Prepare layout drawings, assemblies, and dimensional analysis.
- Design new products or modify existing ones using CAD software.
- Create and maintain Bills of Material structures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to solve issues with inspection, assembly, and testing.
- Investigate product improvement opportunities and develop solutions.
- Build test apparatus and run product verification tests in the lab.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering and other departments.
- Communicate with internal staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Travel as needed for customer and supplier liaison activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely operate in various factory settings and lift up to 25 pounds.
