About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will transition your didactic education into real-world practice while preparing for a pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a learning plan that develops your clinical and business skills. This is a full-time, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact them to clarify details or facilitate medication changes.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and collect medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Engage with pharmacy team members to ensure operations run smoothly and patient expectations are met.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in Minnesota within 120 days of completing your required US intern hours.
- Ability to complete all required internship hours within 18 months.
