About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacy education. This role is designed for foreign graduates to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to practice in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to deliver patient care and gain experience in pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment, focusing on patient safety and quality assurance.
- Manage pharmacy workflow and inventory, excluding final prescription verification.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep customers healthy.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Lead with heart by displaying empathy to patients, customers, and colleagues.
- Complete all required US internship hours within 18 months.
- Pass all required pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of finishing your internship hours.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently, and perform overhead lifting.
