About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to pass state licensure exams. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bakersfield, California.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment by focusing on patient safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Greet customers, process prescriptions, and resolve third-party rejections.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and workflow to maintain efficient operations.
- Deliver healthcare services, including immunizations and testing, as permitted by state regulations.
- Counsel patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance and lead the team to meet goals.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state of California.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure in California within 120 days of completing your US intern hours.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication, active listening, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.
