About the role#
This internship provides foreign-educated pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your professional knowledge and skills. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months, with the goal of obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment while delivering patient care.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing drugs and monitoring compliance.
- Facilitate team culture and coordinate the training of pharmacy support staff.
- Assist customers with questions and concerns in-store and at the drive-thru.
- Maintain inventory and follow all regulatory and company policies.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state of Arizona.
- Successful completion of both FPGEE and TOEFL examinations.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required by the business.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
