About the role#
This internship provides a path for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The program is designed to prepare you for pharmacist licensure exams and processes. You must complete the internship within 18 months.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and selecting products.
- Counsel customers under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
- Assist the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain pharmacy department standards, including inventory management and workflow compliance.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Ability to complete the internship program within 18 months.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs occasionally.
