About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain inventory management policies and procedures.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Facilitate a team culture that focuses on patient care and service.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and company standards.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL examinations.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state of Kentucky.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs.
