About the role#
This internship provides foreign-trained pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours and apply their education in a real-world setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a pharmacist role. The program requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe prescription fulfillment.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Coach, train, and mentor pharmacy team members.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
- Complete necessary training and licensure to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Demonstrate empathy and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for patients and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
