About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours and gain real-world experience. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop your clinical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities. The program requires you to finish your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures for safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide patient care by counseling, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Deliver health services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Complete Technician Immunizer status training, educate patients on vaccines, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks like cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, professional standards, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing internship hours.
