About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship for foreign pharmacy graduates seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal of this program is to prepare you for a pharmacist role through hands-on training, clinical experience, and exposure to pharmacy operations. You must complete your internship within 18 months and be prepared to pass all required pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details when allowed by state regulation.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Educate patients about vaccines and support technician immunizer activities, including reviewing patient information and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist the pharmacy team in maintaining operations and providing service to patients.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure.
- Readiness to pass pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of completing your internship.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
