About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering accurate and safe care.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist the pharmacy team to keep operations running smoothly and ensure patient prescriptions are filled promptly.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient's medical history.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Support immunizations by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
