About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, while gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations and prescription fulfillment to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Follow standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify details when permitted by regulation.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory tasks like cycle counts, returns, and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Complete Technician Immunizer training to prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, and document immunization records.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- Location: Lakeland, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role operates on a rolling term basis.
