About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations and patient care. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support immunizations by preparing and administering vaccines where permitted by law.
- Maintain pharmacy operations, including inventory tasks like cycle counts and medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the process of obtaining one underway.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
