About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice. This role prepares you for a future position as a Pharmacist by immersing you in store, district, and regional operations. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy operations, including cycle counts, inventory activities, and medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
