About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for a future Pharmacist position by deepening your knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Apply Standard Operating Procedures and best practices to daily tasks.
- Support management and pharmacy operations with increasing accountability as your tenure and readiness grow.
- Provide empathetic care to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering immunizations where permitted.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment.
- Follow workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the designated timeframe per state guidelines.
- Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like typing and reaching.
