About the role#
DBR is hiring a Plumbing Design Intern to join our team in Houston or Dallas. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work on-site as part of a project team, supporting the design and construction administration phases of various building projects.
What you'll do#
- Plan utility requirements and route piping for drainage, waste, vent, domestic water, storm, and fuel gas systems.
- Calculate fixture units, roof drainage areas, fuel gas demands, and hot water needs.
- Assist with space planning for central plumbing equipment and infrastructure.
- Prepare plumbing plans, riser diagrams, details, notes, and schedules using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Select and schedule plumbing fixtures, specialties, and trim.
- Research model plumbing and building codes along with local amendments.
- Support construction administration by assisting with site visits, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and addressing RFIs.
- Coordinate across multiple design projects to meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work effectively within a project team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and ask questions.
