About the role#
Dewberry is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Fairfax, Virginia office. You will work within a multi-discipline team to gain hands-on experience and apply your classroom knowledge to real projects. Interns also participate in professional development workshops and a summer-long group project focused on the future strategy of the firm.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and production of electrical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects.
- Design building systems, including power distribution and lighting.
- Create life safety plans for various project types, such as office buildings, residential, health care, educational, and federal facilities.
- Collaborate with team members and firm leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Knowledge or interest in using AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Knowledge or interest in using Revit MEP.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Salary: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour, depending on experience and market conditions.
