About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work in a team environment to support mechanical construction documents for commercial, institutional, and residential projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Fairfax, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and production of mechanical construction documents.
- Design building systems, including HVAC and plumbing, as well as life safety plans.
- Perform load calculations and equipment sizing.
- Assist with system layout specifications.
- Engage in energy modeling and building information modeling.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Experience with Revit MEP.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
