About the role#
You will join the engineering team building voice-native foundation models and the platform that delivers them at scale. This role focuses on real-time ASR, next-generation TTS, and LLM connectivity. You will own a scoped project from design to production-ready code with guidance from a mentor. You will see how research, engineering, and customer feedback connect in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Own and ship one scoped project end-to-end.
- Land merged pull requests that improve a component or product pillar.
- Make one measurable improvement that outlasts your internship.
- Use AI as a default tool to prototype, test, or debug and share one workflow improvement with the team.
- Ramp up on the codebase to debug and extend systems with increasing independence.
What you'll need#
- Experience building projects, tools, scripts, or automations through classwork, personal projects, or previous roles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and the ability to learn new languages quickly.
- A first-principles approach to problem-solving, including digging into the root cause when systems break.
- Strong communication skills to explain your work and process.
- A mindset that views good enough as a starting point rather than a finish line.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Data Science.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is remote within the United States.
- The term is rolling.
- Compensation is $55 to $65 per hour.
