About the role#
EFCO Forming & Shoring Solutions is seeking an Industrial Engineering intern or co-op for a full-time role based in Des Moines, Iowa. This position runs from Winter 2027 through Summer 2027. You will work on-site to support manufacturing and business process improvements alongside our engineering, quality, and safety teams.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate manufacturing and business processes using time studies and process flow analysis.
- Collect and interpret quality data to find trends and determine root causes.
- Create and document Standard Work Instructions for production staff.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards within equipment, workspaces, and processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement Lean methodologies and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program for Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform moderate-level mathematical calculations.
