About the role#
EFCO Forming & Shoring Solutions is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern or Co-op to support our manufacturing and continuous improvement teams. You will work on-site at our headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. This role focuses on optimizing processes, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality across our production environment. You will collaborate with engineers and production staff to solve problems and implement improvements.
What you'll do#
- Ensure safety, quality, service, and cost goals are met in industrial engineering and continuous improvement processes.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in equipment, processes, and workspaces.
- Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing and business processes through time studies and process flow analysis.
- Develop and document Standard Work Instructions for production employees.
- Identify trends and root causes of quality defects using statistical analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete moderate-level mathematical calculations.
- Comfort working in a factory shop floor environment.
