About the role#
The Radiology Student works under the supervision of a registered technologist to perform diagnostic imaging. This is a PRN position based in Wilmington, North Carolina. You will support the Radiology Department by assisting with patient care, equipment maintenance, and administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Critique and perform quality diagnostic imaging under supervision.
- Produce diagnostic X-ray films for medical diagnosis.
- Prep patients for exams, including explaining procedures and ensuring correct orders.
- Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
- Adjust X-ray machine controls, angles, and positioning to ensure image quality.
- Utilize imaging software to transmit diagnostic images.
- Monitor X-ray equipment for malfunctions and restock department supplies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Current enrollment in an Accredited Radiologic Technologist training program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, safety hazards, and contraindications.
- Ability to use email, internet applications, and practice management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with patients, staff, and providers.
