About the role#
Equinox Gold is hiring a Mining Engineering Co-op student to join the team at the Greenstone Mine. You will work within the Drill and Blast engineering group for a term starting in Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Geraldton, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Design drill patterns for the production drill fleet using Deswik.OPDB.
- Create explosives loading instructions and electronic blasting sequences in ViewShot3D.
- Monitor the progress and quality of drilling and loading operations.
- Inspect blast performance in the field, including filming and evaluating results.
- Coordinate between engineering and operations teams.
- Maintain organized document control and assist with data entry.
- Support the Short-Range Planning and Survey groups by preparing plans, drawings, and reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- A strong commitment to safety and rigorous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license.
- Previous experience at a mine site is an asset, particularly in open-pit or hard rock mining.
