About the role#
The AI Student Ambassador helps fellow students build confidence in using artificial intelligence tools responsibly and effectively. This grant-funded position offers hands-on experience in workshop support, resource development, and digital communication. You will work with the Learning Innovation Division, Library, and other student-support areas to advance AI literacy across the college.
What you'll do#
- Support AI literacy activities and assist staff with AI Studio workstations.
- Create simple, student-friendly AI practice activities.
- Promote and support in-person or virtual AI workshops and campus events.
- Act as a peer resource for students learning to use AI tools.
- Assist with drafting, testing, and sharing AI learning resources through Brightspace and other platforms.
- Collect attendance and feedback while organizing basic program records and materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Gateway Technical College for at least six credit hours.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Strong interest in technology and artificial intelligence.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Reliability, organization, and attention to detail.
- Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot is preferred.
- Background in peer tutoring, mentoring, or student leadership is a plus.
- Familiarity with learning management systems like Brightspace or LinkedIn Learning is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Kenosha, Wisconsin, with district-wide responsibilities.
- Hours: 8-15 hours per week with flexible scheduling around class commitments.
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling, grant-funded position through June 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Attendance at required training, meetings, and program events is expected.
