About the role#
The Digital Transformation Office at the California DMV is hiring a Student Assistant to support AI business systems and data analytics. This role involves analyzing business processes to find automation opportunities and assisting with project reporting. You will work in a hybrid environment based at DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities and map workflows.
- Prepare datasets, validate data, and support the evaluation of AI models.
- Build dashboards, visual reports, and track project metrics.
- Create user guides, training materials, and other knowledge-based content.
- Research AI trends and assist with executive presentations.
- Support deployment readiness and post-implementation reviews.
What you'll need#
- You must be a college student currently attending an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units.
- A declared major in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of web development concepts and data analysis principles.
- The ability to learn new software tools quickly.
- Experience with SQL, Excel, or analytics tools is preferred.

- This is a part-time, non-benefited position located in Sacramento, California.
- Work is performed in a hybrid modality.
- You must reside and perform all work within the state of California.
- This position is open to students currently enrolled in classes.
