About the role#
GEI Consultants is looking for a Civil Engineer Intern to join the team in Lansing, Michigan. You will assist with engineering design efforts for storm water management, site development, municipal engineering, and county drain work. This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare design drawings in Civil 3D with guidance from senior staff.
- Develop construction drawings, bid documents, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Assist with the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Provide construction oversight in the field when needed.
- Support proposals for professional services and help develop new business in your specialty areas.
- Travel to project sites and other offices, including overnight stays.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 0-3 years of professional experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments and temporary projects.
