About the role#
GEI Consultants, Inc. is hiring a Construction Technician Intern for our Marquette, Michigan office. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will work alongside engineers, contractors, and public works staff to support infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform construction observation and maintain project documentation.
- Collect and run field and laboratory tests on soil and concrete.
- Describe and classify soil samples.
- Report daily progress and issues to your field supervisor.
- Travel to various project sites, including occasional overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license and strong organizational skills.
- Previous experience in construction inspection and testing, specifically with soils, concrete, or bituminous paving.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- An AS degree in Engineering Technology or certifications from ACI or the State of Michigan are highly desired.
- Experience with AutoCAD and surveying equipment is a plus.
