About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in algorithmic trading. You will work on projects that influence real trading decisions and receive mentorship from experienced traders and technologists. This program serves as a direct pipeline to full-time quantitative trading roles.
What you'll do#
- Join an immersive training program covering kdb+/q, market microstructure, and trading strategy development.
- Use real-world data to analyze and model trading opportunities.
- Build and improve the tools that support risk management and trading decisions.
- Partner with traders and technologists to solve complex problems.
- Present your project work to senior leaders to receive feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related STEM fields.
- Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
- A solid grasp of probability, statistics, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Pandas, NumPy, R, or MATLAB.
- A clear ability to think critically and explain complex ideas.
- Curiosity about algorithmic trading and market microstructure.
- Bonus points for experience with SQL or kdb+/q, familiarity with machine learning techniques, or a background in competitive gaming, poker, math contests, or trading competitions.
