About the role#
Geotab is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will contribute to our core API and backend services, helping to maintain the interface that our customers and internal systems depend on. This is a full-time, paid 8-month internship starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain backend code using C# and .NET for our public API platform.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests to protect API behavior.
- Investigate production data and monitoring dashboards to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to systems and processes that protect platform stability, security, and performance under heavy load.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and problem-solving.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience or coursework with AI/ML engineering, such as working with LLMs or AI-assisted coding tools.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design, unit testing, optimization, and multithreaded programming using C# and .NET 7+.
- Understanding of version control principles like Git.
- Familiarity with database design and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Interest in exploring cloud computing platforms like GCP.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to grasp complex technical concepts.
- Willingness to collaborate and support team members.

- Locations: Oakville, Toronto, or Waterloo, Ontario.
- Modality: Hybrid work model.
- Duration: 8-month full-time term starting January 2027.
